Class Action Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of Kaiser Patients, Alleging Sexual Assault By Doctor

Kaiser Permanente Class ActionThe Baltimore personal injury lawyers of Murphy, Falcon, & Murphy today filed a class action lawsuit against Kaiser Permanente on behalf of dozens of former patients of Dr. Bryan Williams, a Kaiser doctor. Our complaint alleges that Dr. Williams, who has since been fired and had his license suspended by the Maryland State Board of Physicians, sexually assaulted dozens of his patients, some of them multiple times.

Several patients notified Kaiser that they had been sexually assaulted but Kaiser did not to live up to its moral, ethical and legal obligation to timely notify, warn and protect its patients even after it knew of Dr. Williams predatory acts. We are suing Kaiser Permanente on behalf of ALL of the victims because not only did they allow this conduct to occur, Kaiser failed to act and that failure placed dozens, if not hundreds, of women in danger of being sexually assaulted. Kaiser’s decision to allow Dr. Williams to continue to see patients as if nothing had happened reveals Kaiser’s indifference to its patients’ health, safety and well-being.

Not all of Dr. Williams’ patients who were sexually assaulted have come forward and we get that. The anger, shame and stigma that flow from sexual assaults can be overwhelming. Medical literature suggests that most victims of sexual assaults blame themselves or suppress what happened to them. Hopefully this complaint will give voice and strength to all of the victims of Dr. Williams’ vile acts.

At Murphy, Falcon, & Murphy, we know how daunting it is to come out and speak up against those who are in positions of power and who have abused or assaulted you. This is why we make it our priority to ensure our Baltimore personal injury lawyers advocate on behalf of those who are unable to advocate for themselves. We are aggressive in our pursuit of justice and compassionate in our approach with our clients and we pride ourselves on our tireless work ethic and our unstoppable determination to succeed on your behalf.
