Murphy Falcon & Murphy’s Associate Attorney, Nikoletta Mendrinos has been named the Interim Liaison Counsel for this data breach class action.
The US Fertility (locally known as Shady Grove Fertility) data breach put individuals at high risk and these individuals deserve the benefits of experienced counsel who can efficiently and collaboratively work to obtain the best results for their clients. The interim leadership team will work to support one another, and their clients, in their respective areas of expertise. Immediately upon learning of the US Fertility Data Breach, the leadership team researched the key facts and legal theories that have been asserted in many of the complaints before this Court. In selecting Ms. Blatt, Mr. Yanchunis, Mr. Zavareei, Mr. Berger, and Ms. Mendrinos as Interim Class Counsel, U.S. District Judge Messitte, who is presiding over this case, noted that he was “impressed by [their] diversified approach and extensive investigative and early filing efforts.”
Health data breach lawsuits have become increasingly common, however the US Fertility data breach is especially sensitive because of the extremely intimate health data and medical records that were exposed. US Fertility operates approximately 50 fertility clinics in states across the country, including Maryland. The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for Maryland’s Southern Division, and calls out the severe risk that this data breach has caused for the clients.
