Murphy Falcon & Murphy prides itself on its family history and treating each client as an extension of the Murphy family. The firm is dedicated to the Baltimore community with over 70 years of service.
The Murphy family history is full of innovators, trendsetters, and entrepreneurs who decided to forge their own path—it’s the Murphy way. The firm’s Managing Partner, Hassan Murphy’s great-great-grandfather founded the nation’s first African American newspaper in Baltimore. Judge William H. Murphy, Sr. was one of the first African Americans to be admitted to the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, and after several years of practicing law, was one of the first African Americans to preside as a judge in Baltimore City. Hassan Murphy’s father is William H. “Billy” Murphy, Jr., who founded the University of Maryland chapter of BLSA (Black Law Students Association), and also presided as a Baltimore City Judge for three years. Billy Murphy then returned to his true passion as an attorney. William H. “Billy” Murphy, Jr. is a prominent attorney who has become a legend among litigators during his decades-long career. Hassan Murphy has served as the managing partner of Murphy Falcon & Murphy since 1999, and develops the strategic vision that powers the firm’s growth. Hassan Murphy learned the values of determination, perseverance, and humility from his family, principles that have served him well, both in life and in the courtroom.
Murphy Falcon & Murphy has the strength of diversity and the drive for justice on its side. The firm’s family atmosphere helps better understand and relate to clients, as well as appreciate important subtleties that opponents often ignore. The Murphy Firm is delighted in the BBJ’s recognition.
The BBJ will have a full profile in the print edition due out March 26, 2021. The BBJ will also host a virtual awards ceremony on March 25, 2021, including a panel where Billy Murphy will be interviewed. Please RSVP to the event.
