Louisville Injury Attorney

Congratulations to managing partner and senior attorney Hassan Murphy, who was recently named a 2013 Leadership in Law award winner by Maryland’s business and legal newspaper,The Daily Record.

The Leadership in Law program honors attorneys who have achieved significant professional accomplishments throughout their careers in addition to showing outstanding dedication to the Maryland community. Only 28 lawyers are named to the list each year. All of these esteemed award-winners can be viewed online at, and will be featured in a special insert in the November 15, 2013 edition of the publication. An awards ceremony celebrating their achievements will be held November 14, 2013.

We may be a bit biased, but Hassan’s inclusion as a legal industry leader is a no-brainer. Professionally, he has led the Murphy, Falcon & Murphy team to countless eight- and nine-figure verdicts and settlements, helping hundreds of families and individuals in Maryland and beyond find some justice.

In 2002, his dedication to advancing the practice of law on behalf of plaintiffs was honored by Public Justice, which named him Trial Lawyer of the Year for a case settled on behalf of a class of 890 juveniles who were physically abused in boot camps run by the Maryland Department of Juvenile Justice. The settlement not only provided $4 million in compensation to the teens who had suffered daily abuse, but also established a fund to cover all tuition costs at any in-state two- or four-year university. All of this was paid for by the State of Maryland.

Hassan also continues to display a deep commitment to the community, a legacy begun by his grandfather, the late Judge William H. Murphy Sr. and continued by his father, founding partner Judge William H. “Billy” Murphy, Jr. Hassan serves on the board of a number of local organizations, including the Monumental City Bar Foundation, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, and the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy, among others.

He encourages his two sons to get involved in the community and, as a family, they have dedicated much time to nonprofit organizations that run baseball clinics for inner city youth. Over the years, they have supported and mentored students through the Washington Baseball Academy and the Batter Up Foundation and, to this effect, it has become a family mission to use baseball as an outreach tool to help kids dream big and achieve bigger.

The firm is thrilled that Hassan’s accomplishments are being acknowledged by a reputable paper such asThe Daily Record, and to hear that he has been included among some of Maryland’s finest judges, litigators and legal educators.
