Yesterday, Murphy, Falcon & Murphy attorney Judge William H. “Billy” Murphy, Jr. traveled to Coppin State University, where they were featured speakers at an event focusing on current issues surrounding the intersection of race, excessive force by police officers, and the criminal justice system.
The discussion, which was organized by the school’s student government association, was held in response to yet another incident where a police officer killed an unarmed individual, after video surfaced earlier this week showing a South Carolina police officer shooting Walter Scott eight times as he ran away.
Since Murphy, Falcon & Murphy’s founding, we have been committed to protecting civil rights and standing up for underserved communities. The firm thanks Coppin State’s student government for hosting the event and keeping a focus on this important issue.
