Murphy Family Receives Thurgood Marshall Awards On Behalf Of NAACP
We have long supported the NAACP's fight for equality, both in Baltimore and nationally, and are deeply honored to be recognized for our own contributions to the community in which we work and live. The Murphy family legacy runs deep in Baltimore–civil rights and social activism are at the foundation of what we do, and have been since the beginning. You can learn more about the Murphy family's history and advocacy work here.
Billy and Hassan are among 11 honorees this year, and will receive their award at the annual Freedom Fund Banquet, the NAACP Baltimore City Branch's largest yearly fundraiser. "[This is] an opportunity for us to honor and celebrate the selfless and community-oriented service provided by a cross section of leaders in our city," said Tessa Hill- Aston, president of the Baltimore City NAACP. "But it is also a time for us to give a call to action to continue the work for justice and equality."
This year's event will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Baltimore on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 6:00pm. Guests are welcome to attend. Tickets are $100 and proceeds from the banquet go to fund many of the local branch's programs for the Baltimore community. For tickets and prices, please contact Joe Aston at 443-226-9459 or email@example.com.
