Mr. Mosley's lawsuit was filed after Mr. Mosley was struck and thrown head first into a concrete wall while handcuffed in a holding cell by a Baltimore City Police Officer at the Western District Police Station on June 25, 2003. The violent attack left him paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.
"Albert's life was forever changed by this incident and the city's refusal to pay thus far has prevented Albert from getting the quality care that he needs and deserves. Now that the Court of Special Appeals has denied the city's latest attempt to avoid liability, it is the time for the city to step up and pay Albert for the life altering injuries that its officers caused" said William "Billy" Murphy Jr.
Murphy, a former State Circuit Court Judge based in Baltimore, is one of America's most successful and prominent trial lawyers. Murphy gained national attention by successfully defending Don King and Don King Productions on charges of wire and mail fraud, in which King was acquitted.
